This post, linked below, is an excellent example of ‘do what I say, not what I do’.  In the quote, Herbert Spencer goes on, in great, flowery language, to tell us to eschew obfuscation, and to minimize the number of syllables utilized in our literary misadventures, for the sake of maintaining a mellifluous simplicity of voice and encouraging mental apprehension of the concepts we present.

In essence, to Keep It Short and Simple.

I suppose, for his time and place, his words WERE short and simple, but looked at today, it’s really funny to realize what he’s taking this long, round-about, much-decorated way of saying.  It’s worth a read, or two or three.  Go head on over, then.  Click the link.  Share the love.
